MESA,
ARIZONA – The Golden Baseball League’s Mesa Miners
introduced their new logo at Sluggo’s Sports Grill in
Mesa today.
The main colors of the logo consist of copper and
blue. The logo features a white bearded gold prospector
holding a baseball with the script “Miners” underlined
by a baseball bat.
“We are extremely pleased with the way the logo
turned out,” said Miners general manager Becky Thielen.
“The logo combines characteristics representative of the
Golden Baseball League and the history of mining in
Arizona and the old west. The fans really loved the logo
and its colors, and we have already had numerous
requests for team merchandise.”
Also in attendance were Miners manager Les Lancaster
(a former Chicago Cubs pitcher) and outfielder Marcus
Knight. Both signed autographs for fans who were able to
purchase merchandise with the new logo for the first
time.
