Cannons club owner Art Silber announced that the team’s
new name will be the Potomac Nationals for the 2005
season. The announcement took place Sunday, February 13
at the 10th Annual Hot Stove Banquet and Silent Auction
at the Hyatt Fair Lakes hotel in Fairfax.
The club's new logo was also unveiled along with
uniform renderings and the new home cap. The logo
contains the word "Nationals," in the same style
lettering as the D.C. team, outlined in red and blue in
front of a baseball and two crossed bats. The colors are
red, white and navy. The Potomac Nationals' new home
caps are navy and feature a white "P" with blue and red
trim and a red, white and blue streaming flag. Road caps

then-Potomac Cannons signed a two-year Player

in Woodbridge, VA home since the 1984 season and has
been affiliated with the Pittsburgh Pirates (1981-86),
New York Yankees (1987-93), Chicago White Sox (1994-96),
St. Louis Cardinals (1997-2002) and Cincinnati Reds
(2003-04).
The Potomac Nationals also announced the launch of
the club’s new website,
www.potomacnationals.com, which immediately replaces
