CREEK, N.C. -- Campbell University unveiled its new
Fighting Camel logo Saturday during its annual athletics
reverse drawing fund raiser dinner on campus. The marks
represent a more intimidating Fighting Camel and include
multiple designs incorporating the Campbell University
and CU lettering.
Line Design of Greensboro, N.C., designed the new
marks, completing a nearly year-long process while
working in conjunction with members of the Campbell
Athletics Department as well as other individuals from
across the campus.
“We were looking for some fresh ideas of how to
promote the positive image of the Campbell University
Athletics Department,” said Director of Athletics Stan
Williamson. “We wanted an image or series of images that
would compliment the purpose of Campbell University as
well as display the competitive nature of
intercollegiate athletics. We received input from
various areas of campus and community and believe, with
the help of Line Design Graphics, we have developed a
series of marks that will compliment our current marks
and identities as well as give us a stronger, more
athletic, Camel.”
The new logo line will add to Campbell’s series of
marks, which include the Block C and running camel
designs.
In addition to Saturday’s events for Fighting Camel
boosters, the Athletics Department will unveil the marks
for the student body on Tuesday at 9:00 p.m. on campus
at the Wallace Student Center. The unveiling party will
include free pizza, door prizes with the new Campbell
logos, and music from One Less Frame.
