This year’s Atlanta Hawks just can’t get away from the label “new look.”

Wednesday night, the phrase will again apply, only this time in a very literal sense, as the team will unveil its new alternate third jersey.

In anticipation of the debut of the unis, Hawks.com asked several players about their thoughts on the new shirt, their favorite retro or third jersey and if there’s a jersey they’ve always dreamed of wearing.

Hawks.com: What do you think of the Hawks’ new third jersey?

ANTOINE WALKER: “I like it a lot. I don’t know what shoes we’re gonna wear with it (laughs) but I like it a lot.”

AL HARRINGTON: “ I like it. It’s going to give us a different look. Hopefully like in Indiana the yellow uniform used to bring us luck, so hopefully these will too and we’ll get some wins in it.” JASON COLLIER: “We’ll definitely know what team we’re playing for and who’s on our team, that’s for sure. We’ll be able to see them.”

BORIS DIAW: “I think it’s nice. I like the yellow. It’s kind of original. I like it.”

KEVIN WILLIS: “It’s a pretty nice jersey. It gives a little brighter look. It’s a little bright to the eye, but it’s good. I remember the Lakers they came out in the playoffs and had those yellow ones on. They were much more bright than the ones we have, but I like the style of them.”

ROYAL IVEY: “It’s something different. I’ve never worn an alternate jersey. It’s a wild color but I think it looks pretty nice.”

JOSH CHILDRESS: “I’m excited. This is something new. I like the jersey and it should be fun. It’s always fun to wear something new and it brings a different aura about you. So I’m excited for it. Those are some loud yellow jerseys.”

Hawks.com: What is your favorite retro or third jersey?

ANTOINE WALKER: “My favorite jersey is Magic Johnson. A lot of colors about it and Magic Johnson was one of my favorite players as well.”

AL HARRINGTON: “I own a lot. I’d have to say my favorite jersey is probably my New York Giants Lawrence Taylor jersey.”

JOSH CHILDRESS: “One of the best ones is the retro Hawks and the retro Pacers, just because it’s different. It stands out. The ‘Nique jersey is very hot.”

BORIS DIAW: “I like the Silver one the Spurs had last year.”

KEVIN WILLIS: “I would say [San Antonio Spurs Hall of Fame guard] George Gervin.”

JASON COLLIER: “Probably Pete Rose. I grew up in Cincinnati and watched Pete Rose play pretty much my whole life and he’s the biggest icon where I’m from. Now it’s starting to turn to LeBron James because he’s from Ohio. But Pete Rose is probably somebody I would wear. I think I had a Pete Rose jersey when I was younger.”

ROYAL IVEY: “I have an Orlando Magic pinstripe throwback. A Penny Hardaway throwback. I’ve had it for a while. The black with the white pinstripes. The Shaq era, early ‘90s. I also like the Golden State jersey with the train on the back.”

Hawks.com: Is there a jersey you’ve always dreamed of wearing?

ANTOINE WALKER: “Chicago. My hometown.”

BORIS DIAW: “Magic Johnson.”

KEVIN WILLIS: “Kevin Willis.”

JASON COLLIER: “When I was a kid and my dad played at Georgia Tech I always dreamed of wearing a Georgia Tech jersey. I got the opportunity to do that, coming here to school in Atlanta and playing at Georgia Tech. I always dreamed of wearing an NBA jersey and what better place than Atlanta, especially a Hawks jersey? It’s my hometown. Obviously it’s a dream come true.”

ROYAL IVEY: “Probably the Boston Celtics, because it never changed. It’s still the same.”

JOSH CHILDRESS: “My own (laughs). My own NBA jersey.”
