Atlanta Hawks Unveil Alternate Uniforms

The Atlanta Hawks will begin
a new chapter in franchise history on Wednesday,
November 24 against the Miami Heat at Philips Arena,
when the team dons their second road uniforms in a game
for the first time. The unique on-court look
incorporates yellow as the primary color, with black
trim, and in lieu of the traditional “Hawks” across the
front of the jersey, the club has added “Atlanta”
emblazoned in red.
"We
are excited about the debut of our new second road
uniforms, and believe our fans will like the design,
color scheme and look that identifies the city of
Atlanta on the front of the jersey," said Hawks
President and CEO Bernie Mullin. "In this new era of
Atlanta Hawks basketball, this is one example of our
renewed commitment to reconnect the Hawks with the
Atlanta community that we are proud to be a part of."
The Hawks will wear the second road uniforms at these
home games during the season, as well as 4-6 select road
contests:
- November 24 vs. Miami Heat (7:30 pm tipoff)
- December 30 vs. Seattle Sonics (2:00 pm tipoff)
- January 17 vs. New Jersey Nets (2:00 pm tipoff)
- March 5 vs. Philadelphia 76ers (7:00 pm tipoff)
The new uniforms, which are produced by Reebok, are
going to be unveiled on Tuesday, November 16 before the
Hawks take on the Houston Rockets at Philips Arena.
Instead of the usual warm-up attire, players will sport
the yellow and black while they loosen up for the game.
Tipoff is slated for 7:30 pm, with doors opening at
6:30.
Kids 12-and-under can receive a free yellow and black
replica uniform by attending the Hawks’ January 17 game
against the New Jersey Nets and the March 5 game versus
the Philadelphia 76ers. Courtesy of Delta Air Lines, the
first 5,000 kids through the doors will receive the
jersey on January 17 and the shorts on March 5.
