Loyola College (MD) Unveils New Athletic Logo
Intercollegiate athletic programs receive facelift
with new identity system
Baltimore,
Md. - Loyola College in Maryland has unveiled a new
athletic logo for its 17 intercollegiate varsity
programs. The new logo, which replaces a number of
existing logos such as the running dog and interlocking
LC, will serve as a uniform identity system for the
athletic department.
"We're already seeing a great deal of enthusiasm for
the new logo," says Loyola Athletic Director Joe Boylan.
"Loyola's teams have always competed at the highest
level and we're very pleased to have an identity system
unique to the College, reflecting our success as a
department."
The new logo will continue to feature Loyola's mascot
since 1927 - the Greyhound. The logo features a stylized
illustration of the mascot with speed lines for motion.
Although the official athletic department logo has the
Greyhound in front of an "L", variations of the logo
have also been created for department wide use on
uniforms and apparel.
