Salem Avalanche Unveil New Logo
The
Salem Avalanche front office has announced the release
of a new logo scheme for the 2005 season. The new logo
features a wooden capital letter “A” with snow covering
the peak and a baseball’s path crossing to complete the
letter. The lettering of the word “Avalanche” keeps the
wooden motif as well. The logo and lettering will be
featured on the 2005 team apparel and all Avalanche
merchandise. The logo will also be painted on the field
behind home plate for each 2005 home game.
General Manager Jamie Toole is excited about the
fresh, new look.
“It is relatively common practice for clubs
throughout minor league baseball to modify and in many
cases completely change their logo scheme,” Toole said.
“As an organization, we are tremendously enthusiastic
about the fresh look and have already begun to hear a
lot of positive feedback from season ticket holders,
corporate sponsors and our counterparts throughout Minor
League Baseball.”
Prior to the 2003 season Salem still used the
original “Shooting Baseball” design from the 1995
season, but changed the color scheme from purple to red
with the announcement of the four-year player
development contract with the Houston Astros. In 2004
the Avalanche used a commemorative logo on all
correspondence marking the 10th season of Salem
Avalanche baseball.
