Eau Claire Express Announces Name
Express on the way
The new Northwoods League team that will take the
field for the 2005 season will be known as the Eau
Claire Express. That name was selected after a review of
some 1,200 entries that were submitted in a naming
contest. Other finalists were Crappies, Explorers,
Moose, and Skeeters. Seven individuals submitted the
name of Explorers, and Eau Claire's Dave Turner was
randomly selected as the winner of the naming contest.
The Express will move into their new offices on
September 1st, and will sign an official Carson Park
lease agreement with the city shortly after.
