American Hockey League - Norfolk Admirals
Norfolk Admirals Unveil New Logo
NORFOLK,
Va. ... Admirals Action is the theme for this year’s
edition of the Norfolk Admirals Hockey Club. This theme
is reflected in the brand new Admirals logo, keeping the
tradition of the five golden stars and adding a naval
vessel that is firing pucks.
Blake Cullen with the Admirals is thrilled with the
theme and new logo. “We wanted a blend of tradition as
well as add a little something brand new. We think this
captures that flavor. The uniforms will still contain
the golden anchor. We hope our fans agree that Admirals
Action is a great starting point for the future of
hockey in Norfolk.”
The new logo reflects the black and red of the
Chicago Blackhawks. The uniforms will also feature the
red and black with the battleship design on the front of
the home jerseys.
The Admirals also announced a five-year deal with the
Hampton Roads Radio group assuring that Admirals’ fans
will be able to hear all 80 regular-season games plus
all Calder Cup Playoff games. Pete Michaud will again be
behind the microphone to call the play-by-play and Pat
Shettler will assist with color commentary on Fox Sports
1050 AM.
WCMS-AM became Fox Sports Radio 1050 on May 1, 2004.
FOX Sports Radio 1050 AM currently carries Norfolk Tides
baseball (along with ESPN Radio 1310) at night. In
addition to the Norfolk Admirals, they will also carry
Navy football this fall.
