Pens Unveil New Line of Jerseys
The
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins used Day Two of their
summer hockey camp to give fans and members of the media
a first look at the team's new line of game jerseys.
The Penguins unveiled a new version of their Home,
Away, Warm-Up and Third jerseys, which will be worn
during the upcoming 2004-05 season.
In designing this year's jerseys, the Pens made sure
to combine the Vegas Gold worn by Pittsburgh with
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton's usual black and red color
combination.
The new jersey line also includes a unique Third
Jersey, which incorporates the Navy blue and Columbia
blue colors originally worn by the parent Penguins. More
specifically, the jersey is a throwback to the sweater
worn by Pittsburgh between 1977-79.
Pens goalie Andy Chiodo and forwards Michel Ouellet,
Matt Murley and Eric Meloche were each on hand Tuesday
to model the jerseys. The Chiodo, Murley and Ouellet
sweaters - which have already been lettered, numbered
and autographed - will now be placed on the auction
block.
At the conclusion of the auction, the Pens will have
eight of each jersey style available for purchase at the
team store in Wilkes-Barre. The team is expecting its
first full shipment of the new-look sweaters on
September 15.
In addition, the Pens will soon be auctioning off the
remainder of their 2003-04 game-worn jerseys. This will
be the last chance for fans to get their hands on those
sweaters before the styles change in 2004-05.
