Adirondack Franchise Unveils Prototype Logos

VOTING CONTINUES THROUGH MAY 31ST

Glens Falls, NY – Prototype logos for the six “Name the Team Contest” finalists were unveiled today by Adirondack Professional Hockey, proud member of the United Hockey League. The contest will run through May 31st with ballots being available at Team Reardon McDonald’s, most branches of the Glens Falls National Bank and Tropical Fitness. Ballots can also be found in the Post Star, or fans may vote online at www.adirondackhockey.com. Voting is limited to one entry per person. On May 1st the list was narrowed down from over 3,000 entries to the six finalists.

The club expects to announce its new nickname at a public rally in Glens Falls in mid-June, where all contest winners will be determined and announced, by the ownership group of Adirondack Hockey.

The Attack logo features a revolutionary war patriot wielding a hockey stick and colonial American flag, while the Axemen logo depicts a menacing figure carrying a long-handled axe. The potential logo for the Frostbite includes a fang bearing polar bear among snow and wind; the Mulleteer crest is the famous Barry Melrose haircut personified. The Red Hawks version shows a screaming crimson bird of prey descending upon his quarry, and the Spelunkers affectionately captures the image of a local cave explorer.

All logos are prototypes only and subject to further development, while all colors are for display purposes only and will likely be changed when the winning nickname is chosen.

All logos were designed and registered by Keith Flynn of Flynnagain Productions, 1241 Mississauga Road, Mississauga, Ontario Canada L5H 2J1. His phone is 905-891-9509 and website www.flynnagain.com. Flynn previously designed the award winning logo of the Richmond RiverDogs.

To date, over 1,000 ballots have been cast in phase two of the contest, with entries coming from New Zealand, China and Austria, as well as from 23 states and provinces across the continent. Thus far voting results are as follows:

The grand prize winner, determined by a random draw of all entries from both phases of the sweepstakes, will receive a personalized tour for two of the ESPN broadcast headquarters in Bristol, CT, personally escorted by Barry Melrose and Steve Levy.

Great Escape Season Passes for fans who purchased them with their season tickets remain available for pickup at the offices of Adirondack Hockey located at the Civic Center in Glens Falls. Passes must be picked up by 5pm on May 28th 2004.
