RAILCATS UNVEIL NEW UNIFORMS
The
Gary SouthShore RailCats unveiled their new uniforms for
the 2004 season Saturday at an open house that attracted
hundreds of fans to U. S. Steel Yard.
RailCats manager Garry Templeton, and coaches Wally
Widelski, Brent Bowers, and Joe Gates modeled the new
uniforms in a ceremony inside the RailCats home
clubhouse. Templeton wore the RailCats new home white
uniforms, featuring the word “RailCats” emblazoned
across the front. Widelski and Gates sported the
RailCats new alternate jerseys, which are black with
gray lettering, including an RC on the left chest.
Bowers modeled the new road uniforms, which are gray and
have the city “Gary” in large block letters across the
front of the jersey.
The open house also featured a baseball mini-clinic
conducted by the RailCats coaching staff, tours of U. S.
Steel Yard, and the opportunity to take part in a
variety of activities, such as the speed pitch, bounce
house, baseball toss and ring toss games. Hundreds of
fans turned out on a Saturday morning to help build
excitement for the RailCats 2004 season. Opening Day is
May 24.
