Thunder Unveil “New Look” Home Uniform
Trenton,
NJ--The Trenton Thunder, the Double-A affiliate of the
New York Yankees, unveiled a new color scheme for their
home uniform today at the Greater Mercer County Chamber
of Commerce “Sports Day” Luncheon. Fans will see the
uniform up close at the Home Opener on Thursday, April
8th.
“We wanted to keep a similar look to our home
uniform, but, as we enter our second decade, wanted to
give it a fresh new look,” said Thunder General Manager
Rick Brenner. “We have had royal blue pinstripes on our
home uniforms since 1998. We have just added some more
blue to the uniform.”
The primary colors for the home uniform are now royal
blue and black. The uniform remains with the same
“THUNDER” angled logo across the chest set against
pinstripes. The home game cap for the Thunder has also
been adjusted. The Thunder logo is set against a royal
blue cap with a black bill.
This will be the third home uniform for the Thunder
in the eleven years of the franchise. The first ten
seasons saw the primary colors as green and black. The
1994 uniform had a “bubble” style to the lettering, but
changed for the 1995 season to the current angled script
style.
“We have always given our players the best uniforms
for on the field just as we have given our fans the best
off the field,” added Brenner. “This new color scheme is
one that we hope our fans will take to quickly.”
