New Orleans Zephyrs Unveil New Logo
The
New Orleans Zephyrs baseball team proudly unveiled their
new logo today at the Audubon Zoo’s nutria exhibit. The
revamped logo will be the primary symbol of the Zephyrs
effective immediately.
Until this season, the logo had gone essentially
unchanged since the organization’s relocation from
Denver to New Orleans in 1993. The Zephyrs believe the
new logo will give the New Orleans franchise its own
identity and promote its most beloved asset - mascot
Boudreaux the Louisiana Nutria.
“This is the beginning of a new era for the Zephyrs,”
said Dan Rajkowski, Zephyrs’ General Manager. “This logo
better symbolizes the Southeast Louisiana community that
we represent and allows our fans to identify more with
the organization.”
The new logo, pictured above, features mascot
Boudreaux taking a bite out of the word “Zephyrs.” A
more condensed version, which features Boudreaux biting
a single “Z” will be used for the players’ caps. The
jerseys and pants of the Zephyrs will remain the same.
The designer of the new logo is Alan Beam of Creos
Design Group.
The New Orleans Zephyrs, which celebrate 12 years in
New Orleans in 2004, are a member of the 16-team Pacific
Coast League and AAA affiliate of the Houston Astros.
The 1998 PCL and AAA World Series Champions and 2001 PCL
Champions saw over 375,000 fans in 2003. The team also
contributes an estimated $25 million in economic impact
in the New Orleans region per year. Tickets may be
purchased at the Zephyrs Ticket Office (6000 Airline
Drive) or ordered by calling the Zephyrs office at
504-734-5155. For further information, please visit
