The
VooDoo unveiled their 2004 uniforms at the VooDoo
FanFest and here is what the team will wear at home and
on the road in their first season.
The uniforms are produced by Mitchell and Ness of
Philadelphia, Pa. based off the design developed by the
VooDoo and the AFL. Mitchell and Ness are best-known for
their production of highly-accurate reproductions of
old-time "throwback" jerseys for the four major sports.
"This is one of the most distinctive uniforms in the
Arena Football League," said Mike Feder, VooDoo
Executive Director. "We worked with the league to
develop a uniform style that our team and the fans would
like. It is one of our most visual identities so the
look was important to us and Mitchell and Ness delivered
a great product."
The VooDoo will wear solid purple helmets with black
facemasks. The VooDoo "skull" logo will appear on each
side of the helmet.
The
home uniform jersey is purple with white numerals
trimmed in black and a black collar with the AFL logo
tag. The shoulder stripes are predominately red with a
black and tan outline which mimics the "snakes" logo.
The smaller numerals appear at the top of the shoulders
and the VooDoo "snakes" logo is on each sleeve. Each
player's name is on the back in white above the
numerals.
The road jersey is white with purple numerals trimmed
in black and a purple collar with the AFL logo tag. The
shoulder stripes are red with a black and tan outline,
the same as the home jersey. The smaller numerals are on
the top of the shoulders and the "snakes" logo is on the
sleeves. Each player's name is on the back in purple
above the numerals.
The Mitchell and Ness script logo appears just above
each shoulder stripe on both the home and road jerseys.
The
pants to be worn for both home and road are white with a
wide red stripe with a black and tan outline which
"snakes" down the outside of the pant legs. The AFL logo
tag appears on the right front of the pants.
The club will wear white socks with a wide purple
stripe at the top for both home and road.
VooDoo QB John Fitzgerald modeled the home uniform
and OS Aaron Bailey did the same with the road uniform
in a photo shoot late last week.
Replica VooDoo jerseys will be available through
Sports Avenue stores and online at
