Cobras Unveil New Uniforms At Fang Fest
Over
3,000 fans were on hand at the Charlotte Coliseum on
Saturday for the second annual Fang Fest event, which
allowed fans an up-close and personal look at the 2004
Carolina Cobras. The highlight of the day’s festivities
was the unveiling of the team’s new uniforms.
Fang Fest began with an open team practice and
performances by the Snake Charmers dance team. After the
unveiling of the new uniforms, both players and Snake
Charmers took the field for an autograph session. Fans
had the opportunity to take a behind-the-scenes tour of
the team’s locker room, training room, media room and
television facilities. Offensive Coordinator John
Gregory also gave fans an in-depth look at the Arena
Football League with AFL 101 classes. WCCB-Fox 18 Sports
Director Ari Bergeron was on hand to emcee the day’s
events.
Keeping the same basic colors from a year ago, the
Cobras new uniforms emphasize the team’s gold color
scheme. The team will wear gold pants for both home and
away games, red and gold jerseys for home games and
white and gold jerseys on the road. The Cobras’ helmet
will also be gold this season with the Cobra-head logo
inside a red oval.
The uniforms were created by Riddell. The Cobras have
entered into an agreement with Riddell which includes
practice gear for the team’s players and coaches as well
as promotional material such as mini replica helmets.
The players will wear Riddell’s The Revolution helmet,
which was designed with the intent of reducing the risk
of concussion, this season.
Advance orders of replica jerseys will begin online
at
www.cobrasfootball.com later this week.
