Red
is the new black as the Atlanta Falcons sport a new
alternate jersey when they face the Tennessee Titans at
the Georgia Dome on Sunday, November 23. The Falcons
will don a red jersey and are encouraging all fans
attending Sunday’s match-up to dress in red.

“There
will be lots of excitement at the Dome when our players
take the field against the Titans in their new red
jerseys, and the fans are decked out in red,” said
executive vice president of marketing Dick Sullivan. “We
have enjoyed a very positive response to the new
uniforms thus far and expect the red jersey to be just
as popular.”
The November 23 game against the Titans will mark the
second time in the Falcons’ 38-year history the team
will wear red jerseys. The Falcons first wore red
jerseys in 1971 and kept them all the way through the
1989 season. Currently, the Falcons wear black jerseys
and white pants for home games, while the road uniforms
feature white jerseys and white pants. They will
alternate the red jersey for key match-ups during the
season. The Falcons will also dress out in red for the
nationally televised December 7 game on ESPN (8:30 PM
EST) against division rival Carolina.
