Winter Meetings Logo Hints of Business and Pleasure
ST.
PETERSBURG, FL--Minor League Baseball has unveiled a new
logo for the Baseball Winter Meetings that emphasizes
the pleasures awaiting executives from all levels of
professional baseball when they gather in New Orleans
Dec. 12-15.
The rich gold, purple and green colors and the
baseball player with his saxophone highlight the theme
of Baseball, Jazz and Nightlife that will describe New
Orleans for several days.
While the business side of the game will consume many
hours of every day, there will be ample time to
experience the social side that has made New Orleans a
favorite stop for conventions, business meetings and
tourists in general.
Headquarters for the baseball action will be the
Hilton New Orleans Riverside, just a short walk from the
wonders of Bourbon Street and some of the best
restaurants in the country.
The Baseball Winter Meetings official social
functions will sample some of those delights, including
the Gala at world-famous Pat O Brien's, overlooking the
Mississippi River. Entertainment at the Annual Banquet,
which tops off the gathering, will be an old-time New
Orleans Cabaret Show. The spouse tour includes a stop at
the New Orleans School of Cooking.
The Hilton New Orleans Riverside is also just a short
walk from the Morial Convention Center, site of the
Baseball Trade Show, a giant gathering of more than 250
exhibitors, that is an annual feature of the meetings.
Information concerning registration for the Baseball
Winter Meetings, which are open only to members of Major
League Baseball, Minor League Baseball and affiliated
parties, may be obtained from Jeannette Machicote at
(727) 822-6937 (Ext. 1701).
