Meaner Moose makes debut
The
Manitoba Moose Hockey Club unveiled its new third jersey
and third logo during the 2003-04 season-opener on
October 11, 2003 against the St. John's Maple Leafs at
the Winnipeg Arena.
"We are proud to unveil our third sweater today,"
said Manitoba Moose President Mark Chipman. "This new
jersey will represent our team and fans with class and
character while making a stronger statement both on and
off the ice."
The new third jerseys are black with green, copper,
and white trim on the shoulders and elbows. The collar
features a traditional lace-up design below the neck and
the numbering has also remained the same. The new third
logo features a meaner looking Moose centred on the
front of the jersey. A patch commemorating the final
year of pro hockey at the Winnipeg Arena appears on the
upper left chest. The patch reads, "Building Memories,
Building Excitement - 1955-2004".
The third sweater will be worn with solid black
pants, a black helmet, and matching socks, which are
also predominantly black with green, copper, and white
striping at the shins.
The jersey was produced by SP Apparel.
The third jerseys will go on sale to the public at
the Off The Rack Store at the Winnipeg Arena, located
inside the front entrance of the Arena, beginning at
7:30 p.m. Saturday night.
