Springfield Falcons Unveil New Look For 10th
Campaign
New Logo, Uniforms Revealed – New Web Site Launched
Springfield,
MA – The Springfield Falcons unveiled a new primary logo
and jerseys in front of a jam-packed crowd in the
theater of the Basketball Hall of Fame on Wednesday
evening. The Falcons also launched a newly designed web
site on Wednesday night.
The Falcons new logo was unveiled during the
highly-attended event at the Hall of Fame by Springfield
Pro Hockey, LLC-partner Lyman Wood. Falcons forwards
Trevor Gillies and Martin Podlesak then emerged from
back stage to model the new jerseys for the crowd.
The new primary logo features an aggressive Falcon in
flight with a hockey stick in its claws. The bird is
shown from a profile and is comprised of the colors of
nordic blue, grey, sunflower yellow, and red. The Falcon
is in the foreground of a black shield and below a
jagged, white “Springfield Falcons” moniker. The emblem
was designed by Frank Carter who also created the
original Falcons logo in 1994 as well as the 10th
anniversary logo unveiled in May that will function as
the team’s secondary mark this season.
The
new logo will serve as the crest in the Falcons’ new
jerseys. The sweaters have a classic hockey look with
striping at the bottoms and lace-up collars. Both the
home-black and road-white jerseys include sunflower
yellow claw artwork toward the end of the sleeves.
The new web site was designed by Ashton Services, a
Springfield Internet and software company. Ashton
Services has designed and hosted each previous edition
of
falconsahl.com. The new site has an attractive new
look which includes banner artwork currently featuring
forwards Frank Banham, Jeff Taffe, and Jason Jaspers.
The club’s new web site contains the latest Falcons’
news, game recaps, and information on upcoming
promotions. New features include downloadable Falcons’
wallpaper as well as a photo gallery. Fans will be able
to vote their favorite players of Falcons’ history to
The Republican 10th Anniversary Team. They will also be
able to catch up on the happenings of their favorite
Springfield players of the past on the Dream Catcher’s
“Where Are They Now?” page.
For the first time, fans are able to order Falcons’
season tickets, flex packs, and group tickets online.
Fans can also order individual game tickets through a
link to Ticketmaster. Falcons merchandise is available
through the team’s online store. Falcons fans can also
sign up to receive team media releases, game recaps, and
information on upcoming promotions via email.
Wednesday’s event began with a visual presentation by
Springfield Civic Center general manager Stuart Hurwitz
which gave fans a detailed look at renovation plans for
the arena. Falcons president/general manager Bruce
Landon then addressed the crowd on several issues
including the promise of this season’s squad.
Springfield head coach Marty McSorley, fresh off a
cross-country flight, arrived in time to speak regarding
the upcoming season and field questions from the
audience.
