College of Charleston Unveils New Athletic Logos

The College of Charleston Athletics Department unveiled a new logo at a ceremony Monday at the School’s newly renovated bookstore.

It’s the first logo change for the school’s athletic department since September 1992. These new marks replace the school’s 11-year old logo that had a profile of a cougar head inside of a “C”.

“It is exciting for the College and it reflects the energy in our athletic program,” says College of Charleston Athletic Director Jerry Baker. “I think the Cougar supporters and fans will embrace the new look as we get ready to start the 2003-03 season.”

Charleston’s new logo was designed by Phoenix Design Works, a New York-based company founded in 1985 and considered by many in the industry as the leader in collegiate sports design.
