Clarkson U.
Unveils New Athletic Marks
A NEW KNIGHT IS UPON US
Clarkson
University opened a new chapter in the proud tradition
of Golden Knight Athletics with the unveiling of a fresh
image that represents a revitalized representation for
the Green and Gold.
Clarkson Athletic Director Sean T. Frazier, along
with the help of prominent former student-athletes Erik
Cole (men's hockey), Craig Conroy (men's hockey), Alan
Nolet (men's lacrosse), Kelly Priestley (women's
hockey), Mike Smith (men's hockey) and Todd White (men's
hockey) unveiled six new logo marks on Saturday
afternoon, at the Cheel Campus Center, during the
University's Alumni Reunion weekend.
"This is an exciting time to be a Clarkson Golden
Knight," remarked Frazier. "Our new athletic marks and
logo's truly capture the tradition and excellence of
Clarkson Athletics. The process to bring us to this
point was a comprehensive one and I feel fortunate to
have been involved with the final outcome. We as an
Athletics Department could not have put together such a
professional group of images without the support of our
faculty, students, alumni, and staff. I want to give a
special thanks to Boathouse Sports, Phoenix Design
Works, Strategic Marketing Affiliates (SMA) and Vice
President, Gary Kelly for all of their hard work in
making this happen. I look forward to seeing our new
marks and logo's represent our department and
institution for many years to come."
Strategic Marketing Affiliates, of Indianapolis,
Indiana, will handle all the licensing for Clarkson
athletic merchandise. "SMA is extremely excited about
the opportunity to work with Athletic Director Sean
Frazier and the Clarkson Athletic Department on the
rebranding of the Golden Knights," said John Maybeck of
SMA. "A "New Knight" for Clarkson athletics is
definitely upon us! We feel the new marks will bring a
sense of excitement and pride to the Clarkson athletic
program and to the alumni, students and fans as well.
The new marks have been extremely well received by
licensees and retailers which will assist with the
process of increasing the visibility of the Clarkson
brand in the local and regional markets."
