Phoenix Coyotes
to Change Logo and Uniforms
SCOTTSDALE, ARIZONA --- Phoenix Coyotes President and
Chief Operating Officer Douglas Moss announced today
that the Coyotes will be changing the team's official
logo as well as their home and road uniforms prior to
the start of the 2003-2004 NHL season.
"We are excited to announce that we will be changing
our logo and uniforms for next season," said Moss.
"After more than a year of research and graphic design
work, we have developed a new logo and uniform design
that our fans are sure to be proud of. We anxiously
await the unveiling in early September."
The Coyotes conducted extensive consumer research
throughout the logo development process. The changes in
the logo and uniform reflect a respect for the team's
past while expressing optimism and excitement about the
team's future. Following the direction provided by the
fan research, an aggressive Coyotes logo was created
that is indicative of the speed and grace of the sport
of hockey with a distinct feel for the state of Arizona.
The exciting new look incorporates some of the same
colors and graphical elements from the previous logo.
The new logo and uniforms will be introduced to the
public in early September. "It's an exciting time for
our fans and our organization," added Moss. "Over a
three months span, we will unveil our new logo and
uniforms and move into our new home in Glendale."
WESTGATE
The Coyotes new home at the Glendale Arena (capacity
17,500) is the anchor and first building to be completed
in the new 223-acre Westgate mixed-use project.
Featuring over 6 million square feet of development,
Westgate will host a variety of retail, residential,
restaurant, entertainment, office and hotel uses. Once
completed, the development is destined to become the
heart of the West Valley's rapidly growing retail,
entertainment and office landscapes, as well as the
premier urban-village in the Southwest United States.
More information regarding the unveiling of the
Coyotes new logo and uniform will be announced at a
later date.
