BIRMINGHAM, AL – The Birmingham Steeldogs will be
sporting new digs when they take the field this Saturday
against their heated rivals the Tennessee Valley Vipers.
The Steeldogs will be wearing orange jerseys with the
new Steeldogs logo located on the shoulder. It will mark
the first time in team history that the Steeldogs will
wear the color orange. The Steeldogs are asking that
fans come out to the game wearing something orange as
well.
Immediately following the game, the Steeldogs will
conduct a live auction for the game-worn jerseys to be
held on the field. Proceeds from the live auction will
go to benefit Steeldogs Charities.
The Birmingham Steeldogs work with various charities
and non-profit organizations in Birmingham. These
organizations include the American Cancer Society,
Arthritis Foundation, Birmingham Athletic Partnership,
First Priority, Habitat for Humanity, Jimmy Hale
Mission, MTW Streetchild Ministries, and several others.
The Steeldogs work with each of these organizations to
bring exposure to their cause in a continuing effort to
raise much-needed funds.
“We are committed as an organization to being
involved in charitable endeavors in our community”, said
Steeldogs Managing Partner Scott Myers. “In addition to
these fine organizations, we have a program called
‘Koaches Kids’ which affords under privileged youth an
opportunity to attend a Steeldogs game.”
The Steeldogs return to the BJCC Arena this Saturday,
June 21st for a divisional match-up with the Tennessee
Valley Vipers. In addition to the above stated
activities, the first 1,500 kids ages 16 and under will
receive a Steeldogs Replica Jersey courtesy of Food
World and Powerade. For more information, contact the
