Unveil New Logo
WICHITA,
KS- The Wichita Thunder today released their brand new
logo, as the club prepares for its 12th season in the
Central Hockey League (CHL). The new design prominently
displays the Thunder name and blue lighting bolt, now
exploding through a storm of black and purple. It will
immediately replace the original Thunder logo, used
since the club’s inception in 1992.
“The original logo served the Thunder well for 11
years”, said general manager David Holt. “But we wanted
to incorporate a more modern look, yet still keeping the
bolt and some of the other elements that Thunder fans
can relate to.”
The new logo is significant of the many changes the
Thunder organization has made over the past few months,
including the additions of Holt, head coach Derek Laxdal
and several new staff members.
“I’m as excited about the new logo as I am for the
new season”, said Laxdal. "Hopefully the new look, which
we will incorporate with a new jersey design, will be
just the beginning of a proud new era of Thunder
hockey.”
