River City Rascals Unveil New Uniforms

With the start of the 2003 season just days away, the River City Rascals have announced that the team will don new uniforms for the season as a way to celebrate the fifth year anniversary of the team in the Frontier League.

While both the home and away uniforms may look the same as the first four years, the lettering is larger and more pronounced. The Rascals are also adding a third uniform to the mix, which will be worn during the final game of all series, both home and away. The new uniform consists of black pants and a black sleeveless jersey with an orange Under Armour shirt.

Along with new uniforms, the team will wear new ball hats this season. On the first two home games of a series, the team will wear a white with black pin-stripe RC hats, while the first two games away will feature a new gray pin-stripe hat with Ruffy inset inside a circle, similar to the teams signature logo. The new sleeveless jersey will also have two different hats as well. The team will wear the 1999-2000 road cap, black with a black "R" inset in an orange circle. While at home, the new orange and black panel RC hat will be worn.

"This new style represents the type of uniforms worn during the 50's and 60's. It's cooler and more comfortable for the players and leads less inhibited arm rotation than other styles. We feel these three uniforms are the best representation of our slogan, "Baseball from another Era," with examples of styles covering baseball from the 40's through the 60's," said Matt Jones, General Manager of the River City Rascals.

Replica jerseys and hats are all on sale on the Rascals web site, www.rivercityrascals.com, or in the team shop located within the stadium at T. R. Hughes Ballpark, home of the River City Rascals. Hours of operation are 8:30 to 5:00 Monday through Friday, as well as, during games.
