Minor League Hockey Returns to Columbus
April 23, 2003 - “Columbus has always been a great
town for minor league hockey and has a long standing
history dating back to the mid 1960s,” said Joe Milano
Jr., Milano Sports owner. “The Columbus Stars, in
partnership with the UHL, will build upon this tradition
and offer hockey fans yet another opportunity to enjoy
the sport.”
The UHL’s goal is to keep ticket prices affordable so
that an entire family can attend a game. Ticket prices
for Columbus Stars home games will range from $9 to $12.
True hockey aficionados can now place $50 deposits
toward season tickets by calling 614/985-STAR(7827).
“We are excited about this opportunity and are
confident that the long-standing hockey tradition and
the great fans will only complement the new ownership
group,” stated Richard Brosal, UHL President/CEO. The
Columbus Stars announcement was made at a press
conference held today at the Coliseum.
The Columbus Stars inaugural season begins in late
October 2003 and runs through early April 2004, with 38
home games. For more information, call

The UHL has been in existence since 1991 (operating

addition of the Stars, the league has 11 Member Clubs in
six states. The teams are divided into Eastern and
Western Conferences.
