Gwinnett Gladiators Unveil Uniforms
On
a beautiful, cool day in downtown Duluth, residents of
the Gwinnett County area got a good look at the jerseys
that they will be pulling for come October. General
Manager Steve Chapman along with former County
Commissioner Tommy Hughes, Gwinnett Civic Center General
Manager Preston Williams and Duluth Mayor Shirley
Lasseter unveiled the Gwinnett Gladiators home and road
jerseys to a receptive crowd at Duluth's Winter
Wonderland.
"Like most sports teams, we take quite a bit of pride
in our jersey - or sweater as we call it in hockey,"
said Chapman. "It represents our organization, our team
and our community. I hope that you grow to be as proud
of it as we are."
With that Chapman and Lasseter unveiled the
Gladiators "home" or white jersey to an enthusiastic
reception from the crowd. Immediately after, Williams
and Hughes revealed the teams "road" or dark jersey to a
similar crowd response.
Shortly after, 12-year-old Nick Cittadino was awarded
the team's first official jersey as he was "selected as
a #1 draft pick" by Chapman. Cittadino was the winner of
a drawing held amongst the over 500 Gladiator name
entries into the team's "Name the Team" contest.
Both versions of the team sweater are available for
purchase through the team's office and will soon be
available via website.
