Texas Rangers Unveil New Logo

ARLINGTON, Texas -- The Rangers have a new look. On
Tuesday, the club unveiled a new primary and secondary
logo. The new logos will be used for all team purposes,
including merchandise, publications, and ballpark signs
effective immediately.
The new primary logo, which was designed by Skilo
Brands of New York City in consultation with Major
League Baseball and the Rangers, is red and blue and
contains a baseball inlaid in a circle.
The words "TEXAS RANGERS" encloses the baseball,
which contains the team's script "T". It is the first
time that the Rangers have ever featured a totally round
logo, and it is the team's sixth primary logo since the
franchise relocated in Texas for 1972.
"I think it is very nice," said Rangers pitcher Todd
Van Poppel, who along with Jeff Zimmerman modeled
apparel with the new logo. "Growing up here in Texas I
remember the Texas "T" and it really stands out in the
new logo. That's very special for me because when I see
that big "T", it reminds me what Texas stands for."
Merchandise containing the new primary logo,
including caps, t-shirts, polo shirts, and sweatshirts,
are on sale at the Majestic Grand Slam and Timeless
Treasures Gift Shops at The Ballpark in Arlington.
