Cleveland Browns to Wear Orange Jerseys Again
By Zac Jackson
They’re
back.
The Browns have been given permission by the National
Football League to wear their orange jerseys in Sunday’s
game against Carolina. The Browns debuted the special
jerseys in their 34-17 win over Houston on Oct. 20.
“We want to thank the National Football League for
the opportunity to wear our orange alternate jersey
again this weekend,” Browns President and CEO Carmen
Policy said. “The jersey will be worn as part of the
NFL’s Thanksgiving Classics week-long celebration. We
wanted to authenticate the orange jersey by wearing it
with the A.L. patch (in commemoration of team owner
Alfred Lerner) displayed on the left chest.”
Mr. Lerner passed away on Oct. 23. The Browns have
been wearing the A.L. patch since.
Policy said a percentage of the proceeds from the
sale of the orange jerseys will go to the Cleveland
Browns Foundation.
