Warriors to do battle in Utah
The Utah Warriors are storming into Utah. However,
these Warriors do not throw spears, they throw spirals.
The Warriors are the newest members to the NIFL and are
looking forward to a successful first season.
Head coach Lee Leslie has been very proactive with
his initial player contacts and has high hopes that our
new players will have an immediate impact for our team
and also set a standard both on and off the field for
the rest of our incoming recruits. Coach Leslie stated
“I know it will be exciting to bring a new team into
Utah and feel with the caliber of players we are signing
and those who are showing interest, we will have a very
competitive year.”
The newest members of the Warriors are Jeff Main,
Jason Quinn, Jason Potter, Tyler Anderson, and Carlos
Nunio. Main played for Snow Jr. College in Utah and for
Idaho State University before playing last season with
the Billings Outlaws. Quinn played for Dixie J.C., the
Utah Catzz and Rattlers and also had a free agent tryout
with the Green Bay Packers. Both Main and Quinn played
in the NIFL championship game with the Billings Outlaws.
Jason Potter was an All-MWC defensive back at the
University of Utah while both Anderson and Nunio were at
B.Y.U. Anderson was a wide receiver and also starred
with the Utah Catzz from the defunct Professional Indoor
Football League. Nunio played with both the Philadelphia
Eagles and Miami Dolphins preseason squads before
playing with the Berlin Thunder in Europe where they won
the NFL Europe championship.
The Warriors will be holding an open tryout. Dates,
times and location will soon be announced.
