Just one day
after announcing the purchase of the Omaha Beef,
Heartland Sports Enterprises announces the signing of a
new head coach and a brand new look for the team.
After weeks of interviewing prospective coaches, the
Beef's new coach for the upcoming season is the NIFL
Pacific Conference Coach of the Year, Collins Sanders.
Sanders is a true veteran of indoor football with a
record of success in the IPFL, IFL and NIFL. He's spent
the last two seasons coaching the Bismarck Roughriders.
He took the Roughriders to the league championship game
and the team came within three points of a win. Sanders'
is well known for his tough work ethic. He accepts the
challenge with the Beef because he sees talented players
and much more. Sanders said, "this management team has a
level of professionalism that makes all the difference
to a coach. It's clear to me their goal is to put real
quality on the field and fully back the team with a
top-notch business organization". Sanders' wants to take
advantage of great local talent as he puts his team
together and then, "get a few guys across the country
who see this as an opportunity league, guys who are
pushing for the chance to play on Sundays".
Sanders expects to start signing players for the
upcoming season in a matter of weeks.
The Heartland Sports management team asked Snitily
Carr of Lincoln to design a team logo that would be
cutting edge-a redesigned image of a bull that
communicates strength and momentum. Graphic designer,
Brandy Burkey from Snitily Carr, delivered a powerful
image that sets the tone for the Beef's ambitious goals
and aggressive game plan for the upcoming season. The
agency also designed the new Web site which goes on-line
this afternoon. Like the new logo, the team's new
uniforms have a bold color scheme the fans will
love-black, platinum, and white with a vivid orange
accent.
The Beef will kickoff a 15 game schedule for the
upcoming season with a pre-season exhibition on March
7th. Fans can buy season ticket packages, which includes
seven home games and a playoff game by calling the Beef
office at 346-BEEF or order tickets on-line and check
