Central Hockey League - Colorado Eagles

Colorado Eagles Unveil Logo

Colorado EaglesWindsor, Colo. - The Central Hockey League's newest team, the Colorado Eagles, officially unveiled its team logo, jersey design and advisory board at a press conference in the Pelican Lakes clubhouse banquet room at Water Valley.

"This is a wonderful day for our organization," said Eagles co-owner Ralph Backstrom. "Hockey upholds a proud tradition of having creative logos and colors. We've raised the bar for ourselves with this logo because it was different, fun and loaded with altitude."

More than 500 season ticket holders attended the event. Rick Kozuback, president of Global Entertainment, said he was overwhelmed by the turnout for the young franchise.

"This event by far is second to none," Kozuback said. "I think it's a great sign for the league to have this kind of turn out with the franchise a year away."

The team's color scheme will be red, blue and gold. The color scheme is coincidentally the same colors displayed on the Colorado state flag. The logo design was created by Invision, a Northern Colorado design company, and the jersey plan created by the team's marketing director, Jim Jensen.

"We wanted to develop a powerful logo that was representative of the physical game of hockey while at the same time have it be something fans in the Front Range region could relate to," said Eagles co-owner Bill Stewart.

The team also announced the new ownership group consisting of approximately 30 Northern Colorado investors. Martin Lind, president of Water Valley, was additionally named chairman of the advisory board.

"Today is a significant milestone in the young history of the Colorado franchise," said CHL President Brad Treliving. "We congratulate the ownership of the Eagles organization for finalization of a tremendous logo and the creation of a strong and proud identity."

Stewart said more than 1,500 season tickets have been sold for the inaugural 2003-2004 season. The team's updated website will be available Nov. 1 with complete season ticket information, purchasing capabilities, CHL standings and stats, news, team merchandise and interactive polls.
