Ottawa Rebel Unveils New Logo
The
Ottawa Rebel of the National Lacrosse League is proud to
unveil new colors and logo. The new design features the
traditional Ottawa sports colors of black, red and
white; replacing the old Rebel logo which featured the
colors blue, white and silver.
"We think the new colors are in tune with the Ottawa
sporting tradition," said Brad Watters, President of the
Rebel Lacrosse Club. "All of Ottawa's sports teams --
the Senators, the Renegades, the Lynx and the 67's --
wear black, red and white. We think this change will
develop a closer affinity between Ottawa sports fans and
their professional lacrosse team."
"This is another step in the rebirth of our
franchise," added Watters. "We have a new coach in Terry
Sanderson, we will have an excellent team on the
lacrosse floor, and we hope a move to a new arena will
help add to our fans' experience at the games. We're
excited about a great season and the future."
The Rebel, which played at the Corel Centre during
its inaugural 2000-2001 season and most of the 2001-2002
campaign, will play its home games at the Civic Centre
at Lansdowne Park during the 2002-2003 season. Ottawa
begins its 16-game regular-season schedule of National
Lacrosse League games at home on Saturday, December 28
at the Civic Centre against the Calgary Roughnecks.
